IPA

India Pale Ale (IPA) was first brewed in England and exported for the British troops in India during the late 1700s. to withstand the long sea voyage, the beer boasted a higher alcohol content and was very well hopped. American versions are generally stronger and use more assertive hops.

Pale Ale

DID YOU KNOW?
Of British origin, this style is now popular worldwide. Generally, expect a good balance of malt and hops. Fruity esters and diacetyl can vary from none to moderate, and bitterness can range from lightly floral to pungent. American versions tend to be cleaner and hoppier.
Fullers London Pride (UK) - A good dose of bread and biscuit come forth from the malts as does a pinch of fruitiness and malt sweetness. 4.7% ABV

Pilsner

DID YOU KNOW?
Pilsner has a light straw to golden color and crystal clear. Hops are very prevalent usually with a spicy bitterness and or a spicy floral flavor and aroma, notably one of the defining characteristics of the Saaz hop. Smooth and crisp with a clean malty palate, many are grassy.
Radeberger (Germany) has a fragrant hop aroma of earthy, minty wild herbs and fresh cut grass, clean through and through. 4.8 ABV

B.B. Burgerbrau (Czech) has a golden color with grassy hops, a sweet malt base. Crisp and refreshing. 5.0% ABV
Pinkus Mueller Ur Pils (Germany) is very rich in flavor with lots of grain on the tongue, some spicy and fruity flavours from hops and esters merely add to this complex brew. 5.2% ABV

Porter/Stout

A common profile amongst Stouts/Porters is the use of roasted barley (unmalted barley that is kilned to the point of being charred) which lends a dry character to the beer as well as a huge roasted flavor that can range from burnt to coffee to chocolate.
Left Hand Milk Stout (USA) has creamy chocolate/roasted malts with a very enticing sweetness. Coffee comes through on the finish. 6.0% ABV

Wheat Beer

DID YOU KNOW?
Weissbier refers to several different types of wheat beer from Germany. Styles vary widely from Hefeweissens to Dunkelweizens. Look for clove and banana in these beers. In Belgium, spices are added such as coriander, orange and hops.
Spaten Franziskaner (Germany) has a distinct "wheaty" flavor and feel. Light banana and a dashing of powdery clove add depth. 5.0% ABV

Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier (Germany) - Malted wheat and barley in the raw, earthy yeast character with hints of lemon in the backround with a quick spark of clove. 5.4% ABV

Schneider Aventinus (Germany) - Ripe fruit is dominant with caramel undertones, almost rum like. Soft spicy clove with hints of caramelized plantains. 8.2% ABV
